Evan Kilgore, a 2011 Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Nicholl Fellowship honoree, was born in Glendale, California, and after a stint in Tacoma, Washington, found his way to USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, where he earned a BFA in Writing for the Screen and Television.

While in college Evan’s first novel was published by Bleak House Books, the critically-acclaimed Who is Shayla Hacker. This was followed by three additional mystery/thriller novels: The Children of Black Valley, Made in China, and The Last March of Nine.

Evan’s short film, MJMW, premiered in New York in 2012, and aired on Dish Network’s Sahara One TV channel. Additionally Evan’s first collaborative feature film, Butterflies of Bill Baker, was named Best Narrative Feature at the Manhattan Film Festival.

In the past, Evan has volunteered as a youth mentor in the Young Storytellers Program, which works to instill a passion for creative writing in Los Angeles-area fourth- and fifth-grade students. For more than nine years, he also worked as a professional story editor and consultant for major Hollywood studios, talent and literary agencies, and production companies, in addition to independent producers, directors, and artists in the industry.

He lives in Los Angeles.

Samuel Franco & Evan Kilgore have been writing together since 2011. Most recently they co-wrote the World War II survival action/thriller Mayday 109, which tells the true story of how a young John F. Kennedy struggled to save the crew of his PT boat after it was sunk by a Japanese warship in the Pacific.

After garnering widespread buzz throughout Hollywood in the summer of 2015, the project was acquired by both Basil Iwanyk’s Thunder Road Pictures and Beau Flynn’s FlynnPictureCo, and is currently in pre-production.

Sam and Evan also have two feature projects and three television series in development with independent producers and studios alike.

In November, 2015, the duo were honored to be listed on The Tracking Board's Top 100 Young & Hungry Writers in Hollywood. The following month, their screenplay, Mayday 109, made the prestigious 2015 Hit List and Black List.

In January, 2017, their new spec script, Keeper of the Diary, sold during an aggressive bidding war to Fox Searchlight Pictures, with Weimaraner Republic Pictures set to produce.

Next up, Franco & Kilgore are set to write Undefeated: The Rocky Marciano Story, with Jeremy Renner attached to produce and star as the iconic boxing legend.

Both are based in Los Angeles.
